Meet My Person

Meet Yolanda

Literally the day after I met her I told Thobela (the friend that introduced us) “I can already picture her as my wife. Yol-anda Nob-anda, mmm it has a ring to it hey!”

I had been blown away at how deep yet amazingly light and enjoyable our time had been for a first date. I’ve never wanted to talk to anyone so much in my life. I knew then that I had found my companion, my partner in the walk of life. I could not stop signing; “Ndimfumene Umaqondane Wam…”

No, it was not about her dashing looks (an obvious giveaway to the naked eye). I was hooked by her spirit. The story of her life, and how it has shaped her. Her strength, in circumstances many of us would never cope with. Her poise, and power to take responsibility, even for others. Her mind and its unassuming brilliance. Her heart. Oh my, her heart just gives, and loves and gives and loves so generously. I could go on…

Bantu bakuthi, please allow me to introduce Yolanda Nwabisa Mangesi (almost Nobanda) to you, a truly special addition to our family that I know you will cherish as a daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, and of-course… umakoti wethu. May you all enjoy getting to share in the wonder that she is, shower her with the love she so deserves. I invite you to help me to celebrate the most amazing person to ever happen to me.

Meet Thembelani

It is with the greatest pride that I take the honour to introduce Thembelani Nobanda. He was given this name, by his loving and nurturing parents.. how prophetic they were in naming him this, because one day, as I bore one of the heaviest milestones of my life, I sat across a table from the man…and later went home, feeling the most hopeful I had ever felt in my life .

So this is the introduction. Please meet this being…
He is LOVE.
He is HOPE. UliThemba.
He is JOY.
He is WISDOM.
He is PEACE.

And I am privileged to journey this life as his friend, partner and family.
